Bathroom Makeover - Accessories Make All The Difference

Sometimes a makeover takes a lot longer than you ever think. You run into all kinds of problems, but little by little things fall into place. This is mostly just a simple cosmetic makeover. Nothing major like knocking down walls or gutting to the studs. The only major hicup was the holes in the wall behind the light fixtures when we took the old ones down. I patched those and repainted, then we were good to go.

Finding the right accessories is always the next thing. Accessories can make or break a room and bathrooms are no exception. I think I have finally found the pieces I am looking for.

Pick some stylish every day items that show your style. I love these really classic tissue box, cup and cotton swab containers.

Add the unexpected. I could have used a silver tray to hold these necessary every day items, but a fun gold one adds an unexpected touch. We aren’t huge fragrance people and you don’t have to have all the latest fancy bottles. Display what you both use on something like this gold tray and it becomes special.

I love these stripe rugs and they tie in with the stripes I use in the master bedroom, so these were a great find. Crate and Barrel to the rescue. It’s always important to have the bedroom en suite tie together if at all possible. Accessories are the perfect way to coordinate the two spaces.

Replacing the bronze knobs with these simple classic chrome ones is another great update. It ties all the chrome in the room together.

The new lights are definitely a major update. The old ones were a little bit much. These are a wonderful clean simple chic classic style, plus I love how much light they give off.

I think one of the biggest additions to the makeover is this really fun zebra painting I found at goodwill. You can see how I added the black background to give it more importance here. Adding updated art always makes a huge impact. This is now the focal point of the room.
