Not a very big project, but just about the time I started to sew a new table runner, I pulled a muscle in my back and that put me down for a while. Well, I am much better and so it was time to get this job done.
I decided it was time to add just a touch of fall in this post, using some fabrics and pillows that I already had.
Not too bad, but I really needed a touch of the aqua on the dining table.
So, in this post I played around with all the scraps of fabric that I had left and thought maybe this would work for a table runner.
It’s finally done. This only took about an hour since I already had all the pieces cut, just had to get my act in gear and get it done.
I found a second remnant of trim, so I moved things around and used them both. A small gimp covers the seam on the top of the aqua and the fringe covers the seam on the bottom. I didn’t line it, it started looking too thick. I just turned the edge under and hemmed. Using all the scraps of fabric and fringe worked out pretty well.
Just the right size.
Now the dining table ties in with the rest of the room. Love that, plus it really helps to bring out the aqua in the painting and that’s an extra bonus.
Nice to have this little job done. I am enjoying the aqua instead of the yellows and oranges, a great fun change for me.
Have you tried a new color scheme lately?
