Do you ever procrastinate about something and then finally you just do it. That is what I’ve done for about 2 years with this round table in my living room. I love the look of a cloth covered table, but this one was all wrong with this sofa.
See it from this angle.
Here, the height is what I am talking about. I made it this tall because my last sofa had very high side arms and this one is low, So the table is way toooooooooo tall.
This is why I put this off for so long. I have a beautiful damask cloth that I always use on it, and then I just change the cover one to go with whatever color scheme or accessories I am using. So to shorten the legs, I had to cut off the skirt and then redo the welting hem. It really only took about 30 minutes, so I can’t explain why I didn’t do it sooner.
I finally took it apart and cut off the legs 4″ so it is 27″ tall, which is standard end table height. See how much better it looks compared in height to the other wood end table.
Now you don’t have to reach up so high to sit a glass or coffee cup down.
Geezzzzzz, such a simple fix
Also, as an update to the lamp delima. I loved reading all of your guys help about the mercury lamps I was considering for this room. In case you missed it you can read all of it here. Most of you felt like I did, that although they were gorgeous lamps, they just didn’t work in my room. So, I am still on the hunt. However, I didn’t take them back, my daughter loved them and they will be stunning in her more contemporary home, so I gave them to her for her Birthday which is the 22nd. She is thrilled and I am thrilled to have the perfect present. So all turned out well after all.
